Funny you mentioned that...I own eight other P basses, my favorite, all with Maple.

When I decided on this "project" I thought Jade Pearl looked too washed out for maple....So I went Rosewood.

Never had a regret...And based on my other basses from other manufacturers, all with Rosewood boards, Rosewood even plays a bit "faster" because it it not glossed like most maple boards.
