    Some history about this bass: This bass was built in 1989 and was the first 6 string Monarch built. To add to that, I was also the first narrow neck 6 string built (as evidenced by the custom machined bridge). Specs are as follows:
    *Walnut body with Curly Maple top
    *3 piece Maple neck with ebony fretboard
    * neck through construction
    *Brass nut
    *Abalone Block inlays
    *Bartolini Pickups
    *24 frets
    *Active preamp with bass/treble boost/cut
    *Weight approx. 9lbs (per bathroom scale)
    *16mm string spacing
    The only issue is that the finish is worn on the top side of the upper horn; other than that, there are no other cosmetic or operational issues with this bass. Price dropped to $7500.00 or best reasonable offer, shipped CONUS and with the original Fodera gig bag. Will ship international, but you must pay for the shipping charges. Please note, this is for sale only. Additional pics can seen at

    Wow!! Nifty!

    String length?
  4. Nice! Just curious; what's the serial number on this one? It's almost exactly a 6-string version of my '88 Monarch 5-string. They might be sisters :)

    Lovely bass! How wide is it at the nut and the 24th fret?

    She's about 2" at the nut and 3.25" at the 24th fret. I do a lot of chordal work, this bass makes that type of playing a cinch.

    how many truss rods?

    Sep 14, 2008
    I believe it is a single truss rod, the neck is narrower than their standard six string
