I have been waffling on whether to do this, but some other obligations need to be paid for so I have to let this one go. It's one of those instruments that feels like an old friend and sounds absolutely huge.

Sadowsky #4224 - the prototype for this style/pickup configuration. Super light swamp ash body with the best 2 tone burst I have ever seen, Brazilian fingerboard, Nordstrand Big Split pickup (original Sadowsky soapbar included as well), Hipshot D-tuner (original Sadowsky stamped tuner included as well), Sadowsky preamp w/VTC, Sadowsky Portabag, Dunlop straplocks. I bought this bass directly from Rob Radack at Sadowsky about 4 years ago and have babied it ever since.

Price is $3k shipped. Not looking for trades unless you have a very special 5 string jazz/PJ or vintage P Bass.

Questions welcome, lowball offers not so much. Cheers!

Controls are - volume, VTC (pull for passive), concentric bass/treble. The bridge is a Sadowsky quick release.

Bump for this one. I have the single coil version of the same bass, and it is the best playing bass I have ever owned.

I was hoping you would say it wasn't a 1.5 nut width. Doesn't look like one. But now I am in deep $%I#...

In response to a question I got via PM, the pics show the bass with the original Sadowsky soapbar pickup. The Nordstrand Big Split is now in the bass and looks identical except for the exposed pole pieces.

This is a crappy pic, but you get the idea:

Yes, I'm a little surprised myself...but I understand that $3k is a lot of scratch for most of us. I know the right deal with come along soon or some lucky TB'er will hit the lottery.
