This is a beautiful Stambaugh Designs 5-string fretless in excellent condition.

One piece figured bubinga body, wenge/bubinga bolt on neck, ebony fingerboard, mid-q shift switch, 3 Bartolini pickups with humbucker splitting switches for the back two pickups, Bartolini preamp.

Crisp, articulate sound, lots of toneshaping options. Plays like butter. Two small dings, one on the front and one on the back that are virtually impossible to photograph.

Killer unlined fretless 5 for a very reasonable price!

SOLD! --- Asking $1,295.00 shipped and insured in the continental US.
It will ship it in a generic gig bag.

NO TRADES PLEASE - I need to sell this to pay some bills. All reasonable cash offers will be considered.

    - width at nut?
    - year?
    - what strings are on it?
    - how much fretboard wear?
    Thanks
    Beautiful instrument!

I agree that it looks a lot like Lacewood but I was told by the original owner that it's actually "Figured Bubinga".

    Oh goodness.

I wonder how much this would cost to have Chris fret and throw Nordstrands in. This is pretty much exactly the bass I'd have Chris build for me, just fretless.

    Scale length?

Also, did you give him any specifications as far as the neck goes, or did he just use his standard shape?

To the best of my knowledge it's just his standard shape. It's very fast!

Sorry to leave you hangin Spencer, Been taking a hard look at this and have decided a fretless 5 might be more than I need right now, she sure is a beauty though. Somebody really ought to grab this, you wont find a better deal on one of these fine instruments. I own several Stambaughs, they are top notch all the way.

    Wow, that is a deal.

And as someone who owns a bubinga bodied, wenge necked Stambaugh with a mac ebony fingerboard I can guarantee it plays like butter.
