I've decided to move this along now that I have my original Steinie XM2A and a Spirit XZ-2 on order. It's black, in excellent condition, and has a fresh set of GHS double-ball pressurewounds installed. I need to free up space - I've got too much to move to the new house!

Includes a gig bag. I do have a hard case available for extra cost. It makes a dynamite travel bass!

Asking $170 (reduced from $190) plus shipping at cost (cheap because it's so small). I am open to offers, of course - except silly ones. :D

Not of my bass (and my digital camera is packed), but it looks just like this:

Does it have a maple fretboard? I might be interested, but I need rosewood, or the like.

I haven't been actively trying to sell this, but let's try again with reduced pricing...

What kind of pickups does it have?

Any actual pics? What kind of condition is it in?

    Peace
    Nick

I still haven't found my digital camera's download cable, so no pics. As I stated above, it's in excellent condition with no scratches, nicks, or anything - I played my other one, and this one was my spare that sat in the case.

Oh, and the pickups - they're the stock EMG Select humbuckers in a V-V-T pot arrangement.

    Sounds like a cool bass.

These are the wood ones right?

Im definetly gonna have to think about this a bit.

    Peace

They really are cool - I just can't justify keeping two! Three-piece Maple neckthrough construction, rosewood board. Sustains for days, and stays in tune better than any headstock tuning bass I've ever seen. Some day, I'd like a XP2 to go along with my other two Spirits - the XT2 fretless I'm keeping and my XZ2.

I also have the very small hard case that I'd be willing to sell with the bass...

    Hi,

I'm looking for a steinie -- ideally a fretless. Did you de-fret the XT-2 you have?

If it's possible to relatively easily de-fret your guitar, I'm very interested.

(trying to get a rig that fits on my motorcycle :D )

  13. Is it hard tail or does it have a Vibrato arm?

Yes, I did my own defret. It was very easy, since the frets weren't glued. I used some strip styrene as fretlines, and viola! fretless Steinie.

Drop me a PM if you're interested...

All Steinberger Spirit basses are hardtail - the Trans-Trem was a relatively rare option from years ago on USA made basses.
