He did a great job on removing the ugly SUB logo on the headstock as you can see in pics.

I've gone one extra step and replaced the pickup

    with:

    Seymour Duncan Basslines
    SMB-4A alnico musicman replacement pickup.

    and

    Seymour Duncan Basslines
    STC-3m3 3 band pre amp w/ 3 knobs.
    vol, mid, stacked bass, treble
with a pull switch for slap contour.

    also

new d'addario nickel bright round wounds.

neck plays great. no marks, plastic still on pickguard and
    cavity plate.

    WEIGHT is 7lbs 2 oz.

Comes with a sam ash gig bag and original pickups if you'd like it.

$300 shipped conus only no trades please. paypal

That bass has an amazing neck. I have an SB4 and put the ceramic SMB4-d in mine and love the sound. There are great basses and I'll bet that combo sounds amazing. Super-light bass too! That's a swell price for a lot of bass for the buck bump.

If it had a rosewood fingerboard I'd be trying to figure out a way. That's a beautiful bass, good luck!

If you don't mind a little tire kicking aren't the regular MM pickups ceramic? How do you like the AlNiCo? Is it wired in parallel or series? How flexible is the tone with that preamp?

hey troll ... I'm not sure what the originals are ... I believe, but could be totally wrong, but the ceramics and alnicos are different.

    wired parallel per the attachment"http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/products/basslines/501040-110.pdf

I think they sound a little more open with more high end the what was in it but that could be the strings too.
I had the duncan pickups around and wanted to try them.
tone wise it sounds like a music man ... I haven't tried to shift the mid freq on the
    preamp board.

I think the bass is 20hz the mid around 800 ... I'll have to look and list that

for my taste 20hz is too low unless you have a sub.

the bass does have a lot of pop .... and easy to play.
