Would this work on a Marcus Miller Jazz?

it would work, but you'd have an unused knob on the MM as the U-Retro has three stacked knobs (blend/vol,bass/treb,mid/mid freq).
You could have a dummy knob in the fourth position for 'cosmetic' purposes.

Steve Barr at the Dudepit (http://www.vintagebass.com ) does a custom Marcus Miller U-Retro replacement preamp / control plate. This uses all four knobs, as the fourth knob is a passive tone control for passive mode.
