Almost 2 years ago, I had a rare chance to get a semi-loaded US Lakland body. It's in excellent shape.... deep Pat Wilkins' coral that is very rich and hard to capture with the camera. It has hints of orange and peach... not just pink.

Loaded with Lakland Neo-punch pickups (new P pup and the J that came w/ body).

It took a lot of luck and time to purchase the old (non-stamped) Lakland bridge off the auction site. I've been told its all brass while newer ones are aluminum. I can't confirm, but it is heavy.

    Dunlop strap-lock buttons installed.

I spared no expense on the neck. I "built" another one like it on the Warmoth website yesterday and it was over $550. It's all Birdseye maple. I selected the most visually striking fretboard from their best pieces at the time. I picked tiny stainless frets, wanted it to feel like a US Lakland. It's a Tele headstock (my favorite), so I went with steel reinforcement rods to add some mass to eliminate the possibility of dead spots.... it worked. Carbon is great, but I've had deadspots on some US Lakland necks. Vintage tint poly was applied to bring out the grain and make the neck stable and less sensitive to humidity.

Hipshot long stem reverse tuners (same as Lakland uses) and Hipshot 3-string retainer installed.

The only hard case I have is one that I bought new, shipped in factory packing to my door: 60th anniversary Fender P deluxe G&G that listed for $225. Case has never left my music room and still creaks when you open it.

I think I have a couple other pickguard colors if anyone is interested.

The only upgrade I'd do is get matching pots... I used the ones that were available at the time. They were new, but not all the same brand. I can't hear any difference. ;-)

I've knocked the poly off the top of the frets with my thumbnail and rehearsed with the bass a few times. I prefer my active basses. So this bass is new from the heel up. I probably won't part this out, so if it doesn't sell... oh we'll. Warmoth recommends a full setup to be done by a pro on their necks, but it played fine out of the box.

Lets say.... $1199 shipped and insured in the new deluxe case to lower 48 states.

Thanks guys. Taking care of some family member's medical issues. Or I wouldn't be moving gear. But I feel very good doing it :).

PMs replied. Weight coming tomorrow. I'll also check it's balance on a strap, although I definitely remember that it doesn't neck dive. Also, I looked over the body when I took the latest pics and didn't see any dings at all.

Probably the finest Frenkenbass I have ever seen. Good luck with both the sale and the medical issue.

    Thanks thanks and thanks :)

Medical issues are not my own... just taking care of the ones I love.

I've been asked for more neck specs. I built it (via Warmoth's site) to match as closely as possible the US Lakland necks: radius, fretwire... but I'll get the specs posted ASAP. I know that the neck feels like its not as flat a D as my Laklands. It has more beef front to back, reminiscent of my Classic series Stingray. A little fine grit sandpaper on the back of the neck would give this a satin feel like a Skyline, while retaining the yummy vintage tint. I planned on doing that but never got around to it.

Also, I have two Lakland 3 ply pickguards: a black and a white (not sure if it cream, mint or ivory). I'm at work and will look tomorrow. I also have a new Fender red tort that might line up, don't know.

And I have a chrome pup cover somewhere.
