    SOLD

Up for sale is a Yamaha BB415 I bought last year. I bought this bass absolutely brand new - came with the paper still on the strings. I love Yamaha BB tone and quality - I bought this bass as something of an experiment to start playing 5 string. I could never truly get used to the change in spacing/orientation, and am just not a 5 string guy. GAS has hit for a HWY/MIA Jazz so this has to go. it has minimal playtime. it has never been gigged and is essentially a new bass.

there are some minor scuffs in the playing area under the strings which I could not get to photograph, and a very tiny ding on the bottom of the backside. a similar, VERY difficult to photo nick above the P pickup - I highlighted both in the pics.

the finish is beautiful on this, and the general census on TB speaks for the quality of these instruments. I have never found the B string to be floppy or mudding sounding, and it has tons of tonal range from the responsive PJ pickups. the neck pickup sounds like a P bass and the bridge pickup sounds like a Jazz, and combined they give you some great punch and growl.

$350 shipped in conUS OBO. IMO you won't find a better 5 string in this price range. Thanks for looking!

    To answer Q's...

BB415 is 34". to me more comfortable than 35", and if you are worried about the B string don't be. the bridge has an extender to give the B string a tad more length (tension). the construction on these is excellent too, its really a great feeling bass.

I have never owned an 80s Yamaha BB so I cannot give an accurate comparison. I have heard that people deem these very worthy of the BB name. honestly when you hold it you don't think you are holding a $450 instrument, these are just well-crafted instruments through and through.

These are absolutely the best fivers out there in that price range. Someone jump.

  14. These are great basses if you want a nice passive "all-arounder." Excellent P and J tones and very good build quality.

    Bump for an excellent bass!
