I snapped this up as a project, but I'm getting married in 5 weeks, so I don't know what I was thinking... time and money need to be focused on that, not basses :bawl:

This is a Yamaha RBX375. A 5 string bass, 34" scale, 18mm spacing at the bridge, and it weighs about 9-10 lbs. (scale not working well).

The guy I bought it from said that the previous owner was Ben Powers Jr, who is apparently a former member of Parliament. It's been played a lot and the finish started to go from black to natural on the back of the neck in spots. But under the black is a nice clearcoat, so it's not a nude neck... it just had the black wearing off. I steel wooled it so that it looks nicer (see pics below), but it still has a nice, smooth finish.

When I bought it, the preamp was bad and there was no sound. I removed it and made the bass passive, Volume-Pan-Tone.
I conditioned the fretboard and gave it a setup and it works and sounds great. The frets are beautiful and the strings are like new.
As you can see, it's got honest playwear and is not a show piece. But what it is, is a nice, cheap 5 string that could be a fun project or just a nice player.

[del]$175[/del] $150 [del]+ shipping[/del] SHIPPED, USA*. Paypal only. No trades.
I'll include the original pre (which may be fixable?), plus another 2 band preamp (Tone Pump?).
(*= This price may be the bass, separated as neck and body, depending on the location I'm shipping to)

This would make a great gigging bass, back up bass, or first bass for someone. I can't believe it's still here at this price, man.
