    I'm looking to trade my 17 YO Carvin LB-75 for something new to me.

    NOW ALSO FS-$450 shipped-one of the basses on my wish list has become available but its FS only-help me out guys!!!

    Here's what I'm mainly looking for: ( no fretless and no 6's please!)

    Schecter Model T, preferably butterscotch w/black PG;

    Another Carvin, 4 or 5 string in walnut (no Icon's though);

    Fender Cowpoke;

    Robin Freedom (yeah, I know, when was the last time you saw one of these!! :p);

    Spector NS2A ;
    Music Man SUB;
    Charvel with "Firecrackle" finish;
    Yamaha BB series-2 pickup models only, active electronics preferred;
    Lakland 44-01:
    G&L Trib-the 2 humbukcer model -sorry but I blanked on the model designation. : (

    I'd also consider Squier VM or Classic Vibe + cash on your part (but please, no fretless, tele's or white P's);
    Would also consider modded SX's + cash on your end. (Particularly if you've upgraded the pickups and/or electronics)

    I'd LOVE an Ibanez Musician final generation but I have VERY minimal cash to add so that's are probably out of the running, though please feel free to run something by me.

    As for my Carvin:
    LB-75 in beautiful cosmetic condition-1 ding in the lower body edge below the controls (barely noticeable because the body wood is naturally darker along that edge like a natural blackburst edge)
    There is also a circular scratch in the black paint around the D-string tuner. Apparently, I left a rough end of the string hanging out of the tuner and as I was tuning it up, the paint was scratched. It did NOT go through to the wood.

    This bass has the 1 piece maple neck thru w/ebony fretboard and the body sides are solid koa. Beautiful, light gold in color over most of the sides.
    The electronics are stock-old school Carvin 2 band pre and stacked humbucking J-style pickups.
    The hardware is stock-Wilkinson bridge and Sperzel locking tuners and are black chrome.
    The only non-stock part of the bass is the strap buttons. I replaced the originals with a DiMarzio nylon clip-strap and I no longer have the original buttons.

    I have the OHSC which does have a large scratch across part of the top but the case is 100% functional. All clasps and hinges work properly but I do not have the keys. You also get some of the case candy because I have the trussrod tool and some original Carvin paperwork describing the electronics and the special hardware they used at the time.

    I'm in no rush to deal this away and I'm not really looking for a sale, just a trade for something a little off the beaten path.

    Let me know what you've got!

    D'oh!
    Forgot pics!
    Also-this one weighs a shade under 9 lbs and I dont know the string spacing.

    Also-one more thing, not interested in shortscales or hollowbodies.

    Bump,

    Kinda surprised at the lack of activity. When people see this one up close, I get a lot of compliments because of the koa.

  4. Some brighter, closer up pictures might help. If you post your images on a site like Photobucket.com, then the pics can be displayed a lot larger than this too. For such a nice bass, it's a shame to have such small pics.

    I had a Carvin 4 stringer made of koa and it sounded great (had humbuckers tho)... the unly Neck-thru Ive owned and it was a great bass- especially for the money! Im sure this one sounds sweet :cool:

    This one has humbuckers...they look like J's but they're really stacked humbuckers.
    They're just not the newer MM style humbuckers they can use now.

    Here's a better shot of the body.

    Carvinbody.jpg

    NOTE: that white mark near the bottom of the body is NOT a ding or flaw on the bass. I dont know if its a reflection or what but there is no such mark on the bass itself.

  9. Looks much better. :)

    I know some of the stuff I'm looking for is pretty unusual, but I'm open to other offers!!! :hyper:

    No 44-01's out there looking for a new home?

    Run something by me, the worst I can do is say no.

    Thanks!

    I once had the LB76 with Koa. Really warm tone and plays like 'butta'.
    Good luck with the sale!

    Finally getting some action going here!

    I had one very early offer and now there are 2 more out there.
    2 of the 3 offers are for basses that are not on my "wish list" but they are all under consideration.

    PLease, keep looking!
