    Trades:
Must be a 5-string. Prefer to have a smaller (narrower neck then the Squier has. The OLP is fine, my Schecter Studio 5 is perfect for me.) Just PM me and let me know what you have to trade. (G&L L-2500, Yamaha bb415 or 615, MTD Heir 5, Lakland 55-01, etc sort of things.)

  2. Wow, that Squier is way stealthy. Gotta be a five trade, huh?

Yup. I'm lost without the low B. I have a Lake Placid Blue 4-string around, but I just do not enjoy playing 4's as much as 5's. And this trade will be for a new main backup to my Studio5.

They're both for sale individually also though.

  4. Is that Squier's FB ebony? Looks like black glass, the grain is so tight!

Oh, also forgot to mention that both basses have had their electronic cavities shielded. Made a big improvement in the Squier... the OLP is dead quiet.

It's called Ebanol I believe. It's an artificial wood and is very very dark and shiny.

  7. What did Brian do to your Schecter? I have a Schecter Studio 6 and have wondered if/how people modded them.

Brian put a bridge position bartolini and a OBP-3 in my MIA passive Jazz 5string. I was very pleased. I get many compliemnts on my tone.

A couple months ago. I'd always loved how my Studio 5 played but HATED the EMG 40hz sterile tone. We talked and looked around at things that would fit, then decided to go with custom Kent Armstrongs (Kent makes the Low End Jazz pickups for Brian). Kent had a 40hz shape mold so could make these for us.

We put 2 of them in along with an OBP-3. Wired them Active/Passive and each pickup Series/Parallel via Push/Pull knob.

The bass absolutely came to life for me. Brian warned me that I probably wouldn't be playing the other basses much and I haven't. Obviously the Schecter can now do a big punchy humbucker type tone (can't really nail a Stingray tone), but also can do some very nice passive jazz type tones by rolling the volumes back about 1/2. Overall it's very adaptable and that adaptability is making it tough for me to find/stick with 1 main backup.

There's a thread about the overhaul here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=439074&highlight=Schecter+Studio5
