    For trade: Univega Gran Sprint

I got this bike years ago from the original owner shortly after he bought it new. I rode it sparingly on the paved bike trails near where I used to live but the roads where I live now are too dangerous for my peace of mind so it went into storage.

At this time I have no more desire for a street bike but want to get a mountain bike. I would rather buy new so that's not what I'm looking to trade for but in any case, this has to go.

Bike technology has apparently come a long way since this bike was made and what once was cutting edge, is now just quaint. :smug: I see several completed ebay listings for this same bike in similar condition selling for about $200 shipped. For reference, I will arbitrarily set this TalkBass classified trade value in the ballpark of $150 shipped. Anyone who wants to pick this up locally (northern Illinois) means less shipping $$ to have to cover and I will take that into consideration on the trade. I will also drive a fair distance for the right deal.

If you have anything bass or music related collecting dust in your closet but you think might be good trade fodder for a street bike, run it by me. Maybe interested in bass parts, processors or pedals, rack tuner, misc. Any kind of music gear, especially for gigging.

Univega Gran Sprint. 12 speed. Everything works smoothly, the wheels are perfectly true and it rides great. This is a large frame bike suitable for taller riders. It does have some dings and scratches but a lot less than you'd expect for a bike almost 20 years old. The pedals are aluminum and are designed for toe clips but I never had the clips with the bike.

Please PM me with any questions.

I will put up more info on the bike this evening. Frame size, components, more pictures, etc.

  3. One quick & easy question: Wheel size- 27" or 700c? It will be printed on the tire somewhere.

Check my first post for updated information.

I'm kind of a noob when it comes to bikes, so if my info makes less than good sense let me know and I'll do my best to clarify. :bag:
