Just wanted to let you know. Super fat sound on the boost side. Serviceable overdrive/dist on the drive side. Great eq and no low end loss. Just bought one Mint In Box for $60. These are definitely a hidden gem of the bass world.

I know that Chris Pravdica of Swans was using one on tour for a spell, it sounded great.

Cool. Yeah, I only took a chance because it was mint in box and very cheap. I actually couldn't really find much about it on bass other than a few forum posts that didn't say much of anything at all. Was not expecting to hear the massive sound it has, nor the really nice rich harmonics. These are going very cheap nowadays. I think it's well worth the investment.

  4. Is there a difference between the grey and red enclosure?

It's the same circuit, either way. It being a Fulltone, try running it at 18V. I only run my Bass-Drive at 18 now, it opens up so much headroom.

Will do. I was lucky enough to score a mint in box early blue bassdrive for $95 here recently. Amazing sound, but didn't try it at 18. Will try the GT-500 at 18 too. Some pedals it doesn't make a big difference on, but from what I hear (and you just confirmed) the Fulltone's sound/feel a lot different at 18.

Funny to find this thread, I've been really missing the Fulltone Bassdrive lately. The Aftershock can do some cool stuff, but it can't quite nail the Fulltone pedals. Even the TS9 settings just don't get there.

  12. Hey I was just working on trying to cop a Bassdrive sound. I don't know if I an bring myself to sell it anyway, but if I can have it on board with the Aftershock, I'd be happy.
    Pedal Board Fulltone.

Nice!! I'm thinking about making a "rock/metal" mini board with the Fulltone, the Aftershock on my main board for other styles. I've owned the FT bass drive 3 times now I think?! LOL. Shouldve never bothered selling it TBH as I keep buying the damn thing again.

Though this time I'm eyeballing a "Mosfet" version, it should have more brightness, definition and grind than the original I suspect.(which I found lacking in the ones I had before)

The MOSFET setting definitely has a bit more warmth to it.

I happen to have one of the red Fulltone 500's sitting around here but to my knowledge it's primarily a guitar pedal. You're saying it's good for bass too?
