This is a John Juzek double bass made in Czechoslovakia. The model number is No. 403 and it is a master copy of Stradivarius with lots of character (both physical and tone). This old bass has a warm and mature tone and can be used for an orchestral or jazz setting. The endpin and tailpiece wire were upgraded and although there a few scratches and cracks (which are all supported and sealed), this is a beautiful bass. This bass was recently appraised for $7950 and the paper work is below. I have more pictures of the bass, the maker's label, and the appraisal. Please email me at marcus8bass@gmail.com for more information and pictures. The bass is located in San Francisco, California.

My bass has the exact same label, dated 1956, probably made by Wilfer. You might be interested to know that a new Wilfer of this quality is over $15k, so yours is a great value!
