Hey gang. Gigs are slowly starting (straight ahead rock - we are 40s, 50s yo). The good thing about the new band is they don't have any expectations for how you personally dress on stage. The downside is in some unimaginable way I am actually the least dumpy dressed person in the band. I am lazy and boring in my normal dress. But for a gig I feel that a band should do something to show that you you give a poopie that people are looking at you. You know, a shirt you like. Something. For our next gig, I was told "dress as you want". Thinking of doing a fun protest and go as Freddie at Live Aid. I don't think the band will ever get the meaning of the fun but that's fine. What fun attire protest have you done or you suggest?
I have a buzz cut and shaved my scraggly face to leave the mustache. I might need to hit the gym a little but it's just down to the clothes.
If I showed up at a gig and a member of the band was dressed in ANY Freddie Mercury outfit I would immediately leave the building, quit the band and seek professional help to rid my mind of the horrible images.
That top picture of the three (almost four/background drummer) is the coolest! These guys, when this picture was taken were rockin' big time!
That is exactly the kind of reaction I want to know about. Then I'll know if I'm with the right peeps or not. To each his own.
If the rest of the band doesn't like it, tell them you'll compromise. You'll dress down if they dress up.
