FUN GIG!

I just got back from a sweet gig. It was a "battle of the bands" type thing. We won. We found out about it 4 days before the gig and had one practice the day before. We were the only jazz band there, most of the bands were hard rock or metal bands and two were hiphop/rap artists.

I'll give more details tomorrow, because I'm going to bed now.

 

It was realy fun. We got three encores. So we played an extra song for each encore, even though we only practiced the two songs we planned to play.
We played Tutu, Chameleon, Take Five, Impressions and The Chicken. All with nice long solos and some original variations within each song.

Our band isn't even that old, only a few months. This was our band's 3rd gig, and our first competition.

The prize was 200$. There was no cost to play. We also got some future gigs out of it.

Our band is called the "Questionable Quintet". We're still getting our name out, and we didn't start a website...yet.

None of us in the band actually cared about winning 1st place. We were just happy that we got to play 3 more songs. It was alot of fun.
