Currently, I'm trying to perfect 'Cissy Strut'. I can't pin it down, but I just can't stop smiling when playing it, even when I keep missing a beat. One I've always loved playing live was Elvis' 'Burning Love' ... been lucky enough to have played with singers who nailed that one.
I Wish is my favorite I get to play often. Sledgehammer is 2nd favorite. Rio is a fun one I never play live, and... Flirtin' With Disaster, Smokin', Footloose, The Real Me Analog Kid, Digital Man...but don't really play Rush anymore.
Damn dude. Those are awesome basslines in those songs... I guess you’ve been playing for a while... impressed!
Burning Love is a great one. I started learning that when I first started playing bass and never finished completing the learning process. I think I’ll go back to it now. Thanks for the reminder
Those are in a spotify playlist because they are fun, I have others that I plan to work that take some practice...getting better at playing never ends! I'm actually setting time aside to review music theory and take some lessons from a local jazz pro. Very humbling to see some amazing players out there. Always more to learn and grow.
Fun - Sly & the Family Stone (just because of the name of the thread ) Sure Gonna Miss Her - Gary Lewis and The Playboys Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits If I Should Fall From Grace With God - The Pogues Shilo - Neil Diamond I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles And Many, Many, Many, Many More!!! It's ALL fun, though, isn't it? Isn't that why we do it? Hmmmm?
I'm not sure if it's the funniest, but I often play Aquarius form the musical "Hair" and always amuses me
I always loved playing "Good Times Bad Times" and "Pinball Wizard", they are just technical enough to keep you busy, but not overwhelming. Plus they look really complicated to other people. At the moment I only have a Bass VI at my disposal so I've been digging "Just Like Heaven" and a few other songs that allow me to play with the extended range and chords.
