Talking fo tower of power, check out 'squib cakes', i recently found it (standard notation form) and that didnt take long at all to learn and is nifty sounding and provides a good work out. Ill try and find it online, and if you cant read standard notaion too well ill tab-it in my spare time if ya like ;)

Well for me, funk is all about a rhythmic feel or syncopation - subdividing the bar - and is something that doesn't get captured by tabs alone.

Just playing the right notes but without that feel, is not funky! ;)
  6. What Bruce said....the essence of funk will not be found in any tabs or musical notation. Listen and play....it will come with time. Now for my standard recommendation: Go buy The Best of the Meters and start there.
