    this seems like a stripped down funk line and I'd like to learn
    BAAA BA DUM BUM- BUM DUM BUM DA DUM
    I'm trying to improve my funksmanship and that seems like a riff that I can use to build on.

    Well, think F# minor pentatonic. Here's the stripped down line, or what could be called the main permutation of what he's getting at here.

    starting at :10
    G||----------------------|------------------------||
    D||--4-------x-1--2------|---------4--2--x-1--2---||
    A||----------------------|------------------------||
    E||----------------------|----2-------------------||

    Pretty sure this is what you're asking for, it's enough to "build upon" anyway.
