Taking a break from mourning Maurice White to honor Bootsy Collins and Bernie Worrell. I hate to be morbid, but Bernie Worrell has stage four liver and lung cancer, give him love now!

Oh no. This sucks. Opened up for Bernie in the early 2000's and got to sit and talk with him and Judie for a few hours and he was a super guy. Damnit man! Funkadelic is one of my top five favorite bands. Again this sucks.

I guess George is gonna out live the entire family.

I bet that was a unique experience. As for George Clinton, he is seventy-three, I guess all those chemicals have become a preservative!:D

Bootsy seems like he might go on forever, too.

Much love to Bernie; we all know what he can do with a Moog, but I don't know how he gets a straight piano to sound so funky!

Bernie Worrell and Stevie Wonder are the two baddest non-bass guitar bassists on earth. I sure wish Mr. Worrell the best.

Did any of you ever catch his movie? Stranger on the planet or something like that.

Man, that's a real bummer about Mr. Worrell. Wishing him the best.

I first learned of him through his stellar work with the Talking Heads, then I went back and got into the P Funk universe. He's had an interesting second act as a go-to guy in the "alternative" universe. Here he is in the mid-1990s with J Mascis and Mike Watt doing what some might consider committing sacrilege--covering Maggot Brain.

I've heard of it, and I can't believe I've never seen it. Time to go look it up....
