My understanding of Wishbasses is that they sound great, have unique one-off aesthetics, and that Steve's finish work and attention to detail isn't superb (which is why they are cheap). A lot of folks buy them and then do the finish work themselves. In the case of this bass it looks like that was the main mod - good finish work and evening the fingerboard - along with putting on a "modern" bridge in place of the stock one (which is the sort that goes on an acoustic guitar, don't know the term for it, but it's not adjustable for individual strings).
