i borrowed my friends ibanez edb 600 and hated the sound it put out... to low and rumbly. i want new pickups in my bass soon, and i've decided to go with light, bright, and funky. any ideas? prices?
what is this carvin modulator i'm hearing about? any news would be great

I don't know anything about a Carvin modulator but I do have some experience with Carvin pick ups and preamps. I felt that the J style pick ups and the two band preamp in my LB76 were adaquate but not great. There just was'nt much personality. I would replace the pick ups in the Ibanez with Seymour duncan ASB soapbars and I would have the preamp replaced with the Basslines MM style three band preamp with the blend pot for two pick ups.
