Funky sound on laney??

    does anyone know how can I get a funky (r.h.c.p.) sound on my laney hcm65b amp...

    Hi, youll want to boost the bass control, maybe the treble too if youre playing slap.

    Other than that, cut the mids pretty high up.

    Here are some ideas for your controls. (Numbers on the amp, no o'clock positions or anything)

    Gain - 6
    Compressor switch - on
    Bass - +2
    Sweep - 7-8
    Mid gain - -3
    Treble - 0
    Volume - Depends on how loud you want to be

    Note that this means youve boosted a lot of the eq, and so the amp wont get as loud as normal, also youve cut a lot of your mids, which will also reduce volume. Ever noticed many funk players have large rigs on stage? :rolleyes:
