I happened across this at heybassguy.blogspot.com I dunno I thought it was wicked funny.
the only thing funnier would be if the camera scrolled and up and revealed that it was actually a dude holding the bass
no, that's about right. i read the caption, then scanned the pic hard to see what it was, only to realize there's a half-naked (what i'm assuming is a) girl holding it. "huh. how'd that get there?"
first thing i noticed was the girl with the TREBLE CLEF TATTOO holding a bass.............
where's the blushing emoticon? i'm embarrased i didn't notice that myself.
oh wait.... she's holding a P-Bass!!
You guys should check out the blog, its actually pretty cool. I think he posts daily
boy am I glad I spotted the guitar ** AFTER ** studying the Treble Clef
my first thought was "no, that's a squier"
Who cares whether it's a Squire or a real Fender, it has a fine paint job!
Yeah, I thought the paint was too candy apple red and laquer-looking to be vintage anything.
Oh, and what girl?!
The first thing I looked at was the grain(or lack of) on the fretboard.
See, now my question to TalkBass is a simple one, and it is this.
Which one would you choose, Bass or Girl?
The bass of course. Who knows what kind of face is looming above that waistline?
I do, actually.
I'd be careful if you choose the girl. I was there when the photo was taken and trust me you don't want to upset her boyfriend who took the picture.
SO many things wrong with this pic...
Definitely a Squier, not a Fender. Notice the single ply pickguard. And the white felt under the strap button.
And a TREBLE clef tattoo??
We don't need no stinking treble!!
EDIT - - for extra points for the matching belly jewelry.
You guys are too uptight about the bass.
Concentrate on the girl, who cares if thats a treble clef, the fact that she's half nude makes it forgivable
That's not a Vintage 70's P bass!
My first reaction was "Of course that's not a '70s P-bass. Why are they making such a big deal about it?"
My second reaction was "Oh, a generic 'hot' girl with a poorly done, cliche tattoo is holding the bass. Why are they making a big deal about it?"
