I have an Ibanez GSR200, with stock pups. And funny thing? Even after having tried Warwicks, MMs, Spectors, Pedullas, ect. I still love the tone I get outta my bass. Go figure. It's empty, kinda dead, flat, nothing really special, but I still like it. Not more than the above (and other) basses, but still a comparable sound as far as I'm concerned. Anyone else sorta like this?

Hey man! BTW...Congrats on the Moderator gig!

I feel the same way about the stock pup in my cheapie Yamaha
RBX260F "project". I was surprised at the dynamics of it.
When nobody's lookin', I can even do some tappin'.
It picked-up tapewounds fairly well too. Now it's got TI Flats...bliss :D .

I got a DiMarzio Split-P about the time I bought the Yamaha
thinkin', "The pup in there's gonna' be crap so I might as
well replace it." Even if I don't replace the stock pup,
I DO need to do a shielding job. BZZZZZzzzzzzzz :(

    Happy Moderatin' :)
