Future Tapewound String Test

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by winegamd, Jul 7, 2017.

  1. I am in the works of putting together a very in depth involved string test for tapewound strings. This will involve multiple players, multiple styles, multiple basses, and possibly using multiple amp/cab setups. My aim is to produce a professional quality video (780p min) with studio quality sound (16bit 44khz min) to fully showcase the current offerings of tapewound strings.

  2. This is my private mission, I am not employed by the MI industry in anyway, and seek no personal compensation for this. That being said I have enlisted the help of Fairchild Sound for the production of this video.

Here is a link to a previous product video to give an example of what to expect:

  3. The latest news with this is....WE HAVE A SPONSER! One of the biggest names in bass stringdom has graciously decided to bless us with all the necessary strings that are currently available. Stay tuned to find out who!

Now that this is happening, what is something you want to hear tapewounds do? Is there a style or technique you want to hear with tapes? Anything else you would like demonstrated? Let us know!

Congratulations on your sponsorship. You may want to delete the bit where you're soliciting for donations. That kind of thing doesn't really fly here.

  5. Thank you for the suggestion! Solicitation removed...

  6. Hmmm . . . it's been 8 months since your last post on this thread. Any updates on your progress?

    Updates?

  8. I have eventually tried all of the LaBellas, on my own, but did not make any sort of comparison video. Support never gained much traction and it all just sort of fell through. It is disappointing, though, as there still are not any good representative comparison videos of the different versions.
