Dwarfcraft has gone to making cartoons. "Dead astronaut summer" or something like that
I've just compared brieffly an EHX Big Muff Pi Opamp re-creation that my guitarist let me yesterday. Through headphones, compared with the wilder "El grande", the tone is nicer, creamy and defined and the mids are softer. Opamp switch ON seems to have a V or smiley eq.
BUUUUT I don't think it would retain the lows through an amp an eventually it would dissapear in a band context. There's anyone here using it regularly?
Couldn’t resist the limited edition colors.
Coast Sonic, I’ve enjoyed doing business with them.
Good reviews on Reverb. Not far from my city. Free 2-day shipping. Seems like a good choice. There’s a Florida shop selling them, too.
W&C with top jacks!!
But the box is huge. It’ll pair with my oversized Hilbish and Dunwich boxes.
The switch isn't an on/off for the opamp.
It's an on/off for the tone control.
The clipping is created by an opamp, which is what separates it from most muffs.
I love this muff. Got one last year and have been using it ever since. It’s friggen bad ass.
Not too much mid-scoop compared to the Tall Font?
Nice. I went with the EAE / MAE Eldritch Blast
I see... I was confused completely. The entire circuit is based in op-amps rather than transistors and the "OPAMP" graphic is part of the name, rather than a circuit option than can be switched. The switch bypasses the Tone control:
Thanks @dedpool1052 !
Anyone here snag the new Blackhawk Heimdall-2? The mentioning of Godflesh in the description got me curious haha (big fan). While I’m not sure if it’s directly mentioning GC Green’s tone, it’s seems like a really well thought out dirt box. I haven’t plunged into Blackhawk’s pedals yet but they seem to get a lot of praise around here.
Probably the only the W&C fuzz I haven’t tried yet.
That is very sad news.
I know, right?
Great lookin' spec-ed pedal to boot!
As for the IC Muffs... the clipping is still done with diodes, but the arrangement and number of diodes is completely different to a regular transistor Muff, of course.
That’s surprising. I would’ve thought you would’ve by now. Especially being such a big fan of W&C too. I wish I tried more of his pedals. Def still wanna try that yellow one we spoke about a loooonnggg time ago now. Was it the twenty-five or something like that? Can’t remember atm…. But yeah, @bassmusic17 learned me on the BoW and I just had to get one. So I did. And it’s been “the one” in the muff Dept since. It’s great. Got one with the mid switch. Added bonus.
I don't need another. What should I get? Because I'm sure I actually do need another.
What are you feeling? Fuzzy wuzzy? Total annihilation? Light burpy buzz? Brokenness?
Been feeling creamy germaniumy. I got broken oscillators covered.
