Better than any other twelve I've ever used.
Since I just bought a Genz Benz NeoX 212T, I'm not disappointed. I had considered waiting for the 3012's, but I had the money now and I found a used one in the classifieds, so I pulled the trigger.
In general I'm willing to trade some low end for efficiency. Have you go prototypes of each (3012 & 3012LF) and if so, how do the efficiencies vs. Fs stack up?
I've been trying to hypothesize what the 3012s (LF & non-LF) will be like by comparing the differences between the 2515 and the 3015s. I would guess that the design changes and improvements between the 2512 and 3012s would follow a similar path. I'm hoping we'll see a driver that can handle 350W-400W from a four string bass without mechanical limits.
I daydream of building a pair of ultra-lite (15lbs each) composite 1x12"s to run with my little MB2-500 amp. These 3012s could be just the ticket!
I would expect the 3012LF to be very similar to the 3015LF, with sensitivity and Vas adjusted due to the change in Sd, whilst the 3012 is likely to be similar to the 4012HO. Should be great!
Is there a barefacedBass 1x12 or 2x12 in the works? Your concepts would work really well with these new drivers if they pan out as expected.
There could be - we shall see how they stack up!
Any word on a Deltalite 3012?
Kappalite 3012, isn't it?
It will be the Kapplite 3012(LF) from what I gather, and word is there is no word until winter NAMM.
A 3012 LF and a 3012 HO. Two months to go.
I'm glad I'm not the only one geeked out for these to be released.
I drool thinking what they will do in Bill's cabs!
HO= High output?
I'm just a smidgeon excited about what they could do in some of my own designs...
The trigger finger is getting itchy! What are your impressions/measurements vs the 2512II?
I simply can't wait!
Will the 3012s pair well with a nice tweeter or will it require a mid driver? Any ideas?
I'm thinking the right tweeter crossed somewhere in the 1.5kHz-2.0kHz range might work well with a 12.
