    He is a great German bassist on lots of Iconic albums from the '70s and '80s.
  2. The Bass Clarinetist sounds really good on that. Michel Pilz. I think it's a very under used and under appreciated instrument. The solo is great. I know this is OT but I remember at C.C.N.Y. Gil Evans maintaining that it was a superior wind instrument for mixed woodwind and brass ensembles because of it's propensity to blend well with other low register instruments unlike the Bassoon's dominant nature.
