Whenever I buy a new pack of strings, After a couple months, the G always breaks when i slap, I dont think I'm slapping that hard, and its getting to be a problem because ive had like, 4 G's in only a couple months. Do you think theres something wrong with the bridge?

    normal scale length?

I know as the scale length increases, so does the tension on the higher strings usually. Other than that, I guess Im not experienced enough with causes to know.

Maybe you should check out the edges on your bridge and your nut, if your strings breaks on the same place everytime, it defenitely is the bride/nut that is too sharp, getting rid of those sharp edges should do the trick..

Maybe lose a little bit of weight or buy a larger size.

+1 on the saddle burr comment.

I've never broken a string in all of my years playing. Bass strings cost too much to break.

it happened a while back, my friend was playing around and he broke my g-string.

  13. I broke the highest string once when popping, but that was just because I boiled them for too long. :)

hmm... glad I decided to read this I've been havin trouble keepin them in one piece on my bass, I just popped another one a couple days ago near the bridge partly from popping and partly from that part at the end of anesthesia where you rub the strings against the pups
