I'm gonna be getting a modest bass amp and have no idea what's what. I've seen these 2 but few others.

Any comparables for no more than $600.00? The playing situations I am in are not demanding, but I want good bass to "float" the band.

I am requesting the wit and Wisdom of all you TB'ers please.

I would go for a GK-400RB 1-15 or 2-10 combo.Riksmusic.com has some pretty good prices.

I'm not sure about the Ampeg, but I wouldn't get the GK Backline 1x15. I have one. The amp is alright, but the cabinet is shady -- cheaply/poorly constructed. The speaker driver in mine also died recently.

Yeah I think that I will. AVATAR! More bang for the buck over GK (or anyone else for that matter). Quality cabs (blow the doors off of the backline crap!) for dirt cheap.
