From a previous thread I am GASing hard for a ASAT, played amazing.

I would like to hear from ASAT owners, I am 90% sure this bass will be in my hands come this week but I want to know from you out there what your thoughts are?

Please share what you like most about the bass and what keeps you playing it.

    Thank you!

you know i hate to say im not an ASAT owner but i was surprised at its versatility. i mean i've seen death metal artists, to grindcore, to punk, and country artists use these. I'm a believer!

I loved mine from the first moment I played it. The best neck I have ever played.

I too have fallen madly in love with the ASAT neck, out of many basses I have tried it has a very slick feel. The tone that comes out of these things is monstrous.

Love my ASATs. I never have a problem with the neck dive or other ergonomic issues that some people complain about. They look great, play like butter, sound incredible, and are as versatile as anything out there. What's not to like?

    "What's not to like?"

....the 5 string version is near impossible to find, and if you do, are extremely expensive.

That's the only thing me no likey!

  7. they look cool, they sound hot, they're cheap for what they are and people never know what they are....oh and they play beuatifully, they have balls and they're very loud (if you want them to be)...................oh and they sound great active or passive.

I use mine more passive than active.

Agreed. Had to watch two of them go by due to insufficient funds. Next one I see for sale is mine!

  9. I likey my ASAT bass. I did get an extra wide strap for it. Not because it dives, but in case it decides to dive.

It is also 1 of only 2 guitars that I own with a maple fretboard, which I normally DETEST. But this one was too good to turn down.

    I say: GO FOR IT.

Big sound, versatility and killer look !
No problem with neck dive, but it's not most ergonomic bass !

I've been going nuts for all G & L basses lately, but I've really had my heart set on an ASAT. I'm havin' trouble finding a place to play find them though, and they seem to be non-exsistant in the used market, what does a guy have to do to get his hands on one of these?
