Does anyone know if when a G&l l-2000/ASAT is in passive mode if it bypasses the battery? In other words can you play the G&L in passive mode without a battery in the bass?

My understanding is that the bass was setup so that you could use it if the batery dies by switching it to passive mode.

I have an L-2500 and when I noticed that it sounded like it had a weak batery I switched it to passive mode and it seemed to work 100%. Its not the same as the batery being completely out, but it sounded fine.
