The Tribby has become my go-to bass.
Sure, it's fretwork isn't the greatest, but it still plays so well.
Marcin is absolutely phenomenal, IMHO.
All Steve criticisms are justified, as a newbie I'd have never bought a G&L bass off of his demos, and that's the general response I got from friends in the months between ordering and receiving the SB-1.
It's nothing personal, but when your advertisements hurt the brand rather than help it, it's best to not sugar-coat things.
The fretless demo linked earlier is great though, so there's hope yet.
If memory serves me right - up is series, middle SC, down parallel (mine is permanently in series).

I've noticed that the switch function is reversed on my L1k and Kiloton.
But SC is in the middle position on both.

Hey guys, those of you with purchases from the G&L clearance page, how have those turned out? It seems the basses typically have some sort of blemish or scratch, but I can never see it in the pictures. Is it a generic description they use? Or did you actually have visible blemishes when you got your guitars?
I've bought a JB-2 and an LB100 from that page. The descriptions aren't generic. I think the blemishes are just too slight to properly photograph without special equipment. I've been real happy with mine. Really the only problem I had--and it wasn't listed in their description so I don't think they even realized it--was on my JB-2. The neck pickup volume control wasn't grounded, so the volume wouldn't turn down all the way on that pickup. I just popped the control cavity cover and grounded it. Quick and simple fix. Yes, they do have scratches. My LB-100 has some pickguard scratches, and there are some light scratches on the back. MY JB-2 has slight scratches on the front and back, and the clear coat on it is slightly orange peeled, which you can't even see unless you hold it just right in the light. I like' em both.
The JB2 that I got there is amazing. $300, 8.2lbs. Very light scratches, I didn't find them until I held the bass up a certain way...I probably wouldn't have noticed them if they hadn't said they were there.

That's a fine-looking bass. I had to decide between the 3-tone sunburst or the natural, but I think the natural they had listed that week had a maple neck, for some reason, so I bought the sunburst, also with a maple neck (but I liked it better on the sunburst). I really like your natural with the rosewood or Brazilian Cherry fretboard, whatever they were using that day. And those naturals are getting scarce. They don't offer the JB-2 in natural anymore.
