I just got my L-2000 and its awesome :) But I just have one question.. When putting the bass in passive mode, why do the treble and bass controls still work? Its cutting out the battery so shouldn't they do nothing? Are they acting more like tone controls than treble and bass?

that's one of the major hit in the design of the L2000 bass. the tone knobs act the same when the bass is in passive mode too.

those are cut only controls that shows how brillant is the electronic design in these basses.

The bass and treble controls are cut-only and are passive in nature so they work in both active and passive modes. It was Leo's idea - voice the pickups with plenty of bass and treble and have passive bass & treble cut controls so you have tone shaping available in all modes.

I guess Barroso and I were typing at the same time

    What they said.

    The L-series' electronics are excellent.
