G&L L-2500 vs Fender RB5...

    It occured to me that the pickups are "similar" in their function. Have any of you A/Bd the two basses? Assuming the pre in the G&L is turned off, how close is it's parallel and/or series setting to the RB5s? Also, is there room inside to mod the electronics to make it "closer" to the RB5?? What I mean is replace the S/P switching with series/parallel/single, like the RB5, as well as maybe a push/pull switch on the volume or one of the tone pots to activate the "slight volume cut" on the neck pickup, ala RB5's tone pull thing. Am I nuts?? Maybe. I am thinking the Tribute, ash body, and possibly using the Moses neck I got from MF. My neck was/is broken just like Hambones. I watched his dealings before deciding to send it in for repair. I have opted to fix it myself....
