This G&L L-5500 is an early edition, and is in great condition. Ash body in a honey finish. Rosewood fretboard. Hard Rock maple neck that is straight and very comfortable. New GHS boomers. EMG active 40DC Pickups with BTC preamp. This is running at 9 Volts, and is very hot, but could easily be converted to 18 Volts to really open it up !! Just add a battery !!

Comes with a hard plastic flight style case.

$595 shipped in the continental states.

The preamp on these is very cool. They have a Volume, Pickup Pan, and a stacked Treble and Bass on the third knob. There is an unbelievable amount of tone control with thsi set up. It can go from real sharp boingy treble to super muffled thump and everything in between.

It also has a small switch on the treble pot that allows you four different choices of the centric frequency, so you can dial in a treble sound you like the best. You can also run these easily at 18 volts, and they are HUGE !! EMG even recommends this conversion. This one sounds bigger to me than the other L-5500's I have owned. It has a nice B string on it, too.

Thanks for the trade offer, it is all tempting, but I need the cash at the moment, and would prefer to sell than trade. Nice gear, though !!

That L-2500 ought to be worth a few bucks !!

Could you possibly do $550 shipped? I'll have to BEG my wife  , but I could probably get 550 together.

Thanks for jumping in the mix, coop. When everyone walks away happy, that's when you know it is a good deal.

That L-2500 looks mighty nice, and is one of the earliest made. I am sure it is a sweet little fiddle.

Good luck with drumming up a deal.

  5. I also have one made in '95. They may have been early proto's that went full production, maybe I'll give G&L a call to get their take.....

That's ok, just feel bad about wasting Butterpump's time. I was all set to do this deal. I will go and delete all my previous posts to remove all the clutter. I still have my speaker cabs up for sale. If I sell some of them before you sell this bass I will get back with you.
