I have been an L 2000 fan for a long time. I have had some really good ones and some that were ok but none have ever matched my 93 L2000 that was just a perfect player. I have searched and been disappointed many times but alas the search it over. I scored right here in TB this 96 L2K that is Perfect down to my favorite natural ash/maple combo. I have the action dialed in and it slaps like a dream.... No buzzing in the upper register and a crystal clear sounding piece of ash with glorious articulation. The neck is slightly chunky for my tastes but that kinda stuff is minor to me. With all the cool basses in the house right now I am glad I took the time to fully inspect thus beauty and gig it to put it through its paces. Could not be happier!

G&L do tend to pick scenic woods for transparent finishes.

Not the first time I completely agree with you, last one bein' when you introduced your Yamaha Trb

    But, back to G&L L2000... I got two of'em, and... four L2500!!!
Last one (up until now) a MIK '05 amber/rosewood Tribute one
I scored last week and brought yesterday home

One out of the two L2000 (natural with rosewood fingerboard)
received a diMarzio WillPower neck humbucker to be added to factory dual MFDs: my very first "three pickupped" bass guitar!
