I’m looking at buying a G&L USA L2500 from a private seller. I haven’t physically seen it yet, but I just wanted to show some photos here. Any concerns here anyone can see? I’ve never played one before.
    Thanks,
    Dave

The heck is going on with the G tuning peg?

Thanks for pointing that out. Had me a look spooked after I read your comment, but then I googled others and it really looks pretty similarly positioned. I assume that’s what you mean, the mounting angle?

Yeah, that angle just seems off to me. That's the only thing to my eye, but, it's been over 8 years since I've owned an L-2500.

Huh. I never noticed that before, but I just looked at a bunch of pictures of USA G&L L-2500's. I'm guessing the drunk guy is the one that randomly attaches the G tuner at various angles.

Considering the shape of the headstock, the tuner follows the contours pretty well. The L2500s I've had looked like that, too.

One thing, it's a G&L with a finish you probably won't see again, let alone have the opportunity to buy.

I've looked at a bunch of pictures. Tributes appear to pretty much mount the G tuner straight. My Korean L-2500 is like this. With the USA models, it looks to me like the mounting angle is all over the place, from almost straight to the extreme in the OP's post. The one on the L-2500 product page looks to be a bit less angled, but there seems to be a variety of mounting angles. I suppose I could be imagining it, or it could be an optical illusion.

I just found it interesting, because I never noticed before. My L-2500 is 4+1, so I don't really have a great frame of reference.

  9. I have never seen that finish on any G&L before. Most likely it was a custom build. I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
