Got this from another Talkbass member and this bass has served me well, I just find myself needing 24 frets. Bass is absolutely gorgeous and plays like a dream. Some upgrades include: * Birds Eye Maple fretboard * Quartersawn neck * Light Tint Gloss * Matching Headstock * Graph-Tech Nut * White pearloid inlay dots (Like on rosewood boards) * Stainless Steel Frets Price is $1600 + shipping. Trades considered, but it’s gotta have 24 frets.
These basses are total sleepers I just got my hands on an M2500 and it’s absolutely insane. Total tone monster and build quality is top notch. GLWTS!
Curious, is the B string sound tight and focused on this? I briefly had a m2500 tribute and it was mega flabby.
The low B on this feels and sounds tight, flabby is not a word I’d associate with this bass. For reference, I keep DR high beams on this bass and its always played and sounded great. There’s a lot to love about this bass, so many tonal options and I’ve never had a single problem with note definition or anything regarding its playability. The 18v preamp will provide a learning curve for some, but this thing absolutely rips once you get a hang of how to dial it in. If this bass had 24 frets, I would never ever ever consider selling it. It’s a joy to play and hear, anyone who decides to pull the trigger is gonna be a happy camper with this instrument.
