G&L Refinishing Complete

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Sanctum, May 10, 2002.

  1. A followup from the previous thread:

The refinishing went well, new tung oil finish, and I even rewired the thing myself ;) Well, the wiring was fine, but I improved my soldering skillz.

My last question is the pickup height - how high should they be? Or is it just a matter of sound preference?

Here's the gallery of the process and the bass now:

  6. It is indeed a 1983 SB2. It was hanging on the wall for $425, but I traded in an MIM Fender V for it, which I know wasnt worth that much. You're right, it sounds awesome - its my first G&L ever.
