G&L SB-2 bass pickups

  1. Here we have the MFD pickups from a G&L USA SB-2.

The neck pickup will fit either the SB-1, or the SB-2. The bridge is for the SB-2.

These MFDs are really high output, great for rock, metal, or reggae. I'm using my SB-2 in a jazz band, so I opted for lower output pickups. These pickups sound really good, though. G&L owners usually rave about their MFD pickups.

$50 each shipped in Canada or the U.S., or $90 for the pair.

    I'm going to guess... Alumitones?
Experts know this but, would these fit in a stock Fender PJ route?
  4. I replaced the G&L MFDs with Aluma-P and Aluma-J pickups by Lace. (The MFDs are sitting in the Lace boxes, and you can just make out the upside-down writing in my first set of pictures.)

Sorry, I don't know if these pickups would fit in your Fender PJ-route. I do know that my Lace Aluma-J did not fit in the G&L bridge-route. (Thanks, Lace!) The Aluma-J went way deeper, and my luthier had to widen the route as well. It is noticeable closeup with the flash as shown in the picture, but not under normal lighting conditions. The Alumas sure sound great, though.
