    Country:
    United States
Like a fine Merlot, this bass has aged very well.
For 40 year old bass, excellent shape.
There are a few love taps and scratches here and there, but nothing deep, and nothing that affects playability. I've tried to capture these in the pics.

Selling only to fund new G&L build.

$1300 shipped within North America, will not ship outside of there, so please don't ask.
    Not interested in trades.

Neck date and serial number places the build date in 1981.
    Beautiful translucent-finished solid Mahogany Body
Remarkably light at 9 lbs 4 oz.
Ebony fretboard with mother of pearl dots
Neck is 1 11/16ths inches wide.
Original MFD pickup in the Precision sweet-spot, passive, with the 3-way switch between series, parallel, and OMG mode.

The bass is stock with 2 exceptions:
1 is Dunlop Straplocks (will include original strap pins)
The other is the back of the neck has been sanded down and had an oil/wax finish applied, much like EBMM and US Lakland basses. Smooth and satiny as silk.
Strung with Fender flats for that old-school thump.
Top-of-line woody G&L hard case made by G&G.

whoa...If I'd have worked for G&L in the 80s, I would have never taken home a paycheck.

Close -- I worked for one of their first retailers back in my high school days. Still my fave job ever.

pardon my asking -- is that a 1-piece body?

[edit: it looks stunning! a new piece of genuine mahogany wood like that must be super expensive nowadays.]

My example from the same year is exactly the same weight - just struck me as funny. Hat's off the buyer -- you're getting a terrific instrument.
