So, what are the differences, besides the obvious like:

    - 700 vs. 1080 watts
    - Single vs. dual channel (OD/dist)
    - Simple vs. intricate cabinet hook-up's
    - Size
    - Price

I'm talkin' sound, man... and any other differences.

You pretty much nailed it. I went with the 2001RB because I'm a headroom-whore, but the 1001RB would handle nearly any situation.

I don't know about other countries, but in Norway the 2001rb cost twice as much as the 1001rb-II in stores. And it's completely impossible to find a used GK here.

    So my question is:

Is it worth the double price for 300 extra watts? I'm looking to purchase the NEO212 and one of the mentioned GK-heads. Then later purchase an additional NEO212. That way, I have the option to bring one or two cabinets, depending on the gig and how much equipment we can bring. Though I liked the distorted channel of the 2001rb, I have a russian Big Muff Pi that I like.
