My "newly renovated" tower!!! Should be a decent coffee shop rig....

1x112 for practice/acoustic shows, 1x212 for most shows, 2x212 for bigger stuff, and 5x12 for????....

Not pictured is my 700RB-II, which has a problem, the return on the effects loop cuts out the entire signal. I can work around it by not using the loop, but I gotta get it fixed so it doesn't get worse(a bit bummed, I've only had this amp for 9 months. At least it's still under warranty.). So now I need to get another amp. I play in a modern rock cover band, so I keep going back and forth between the MB500, MB800, and the MBF800. I also considered the 1001RB-II, but with my recent shoulder repair, I really like the idea of a high-powered micro amp(don't shoot me, but I'm also eyeing an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500...). Not sure what basses I'll be playing, I just sold my Dingwalls for the same reason, but they'll probably be active. Anyway, just wanted to share...

Well, today has been an expensive one: New bass, new pick up for my GR-55, and a new amp! After an evening of deliberating, I decided on the MB Fusion 800! I had a Fusion 550, but it was heavy and I wanted to go the other way. After it gets here, I'll have the Fusion 800 vs. 700RB shootout to see which amp becomes primary and which one becomes backup...

All I need is about 4 more cabs and a bunch more talent to catch up with Tony P!

I LOVE your rig, how loud can that thing get? I want an MB200 anyway, so I'm tempted to get one and run it through my 2x212 NEOs...

HA...Some advice I like to give all 'guys' in the rhythm section world who are young and single...
Go dancing even if your not into it...Even if your Jo Rock-Rock guy.

Find a women with a large round backside who has a lot of energy (even if you not attracted to her) and that is moving on the floor and has tons of confidence. Hang our with her on the floor like you want to take her home and let her lead the flow...Do this X amount of times and your groove will improve...

This is also a BIG shout out for Sweetwater and my Sales Engineer-Jimmy Hart.
I ordered the MBF 800 LAST NIGHT....
AFTER 5pm...
and it showed up TODAY! Now, granted, I live in the same state as Sweetwater, but they got my order out late and got it to me the next day, and I got a pretty good deal on it! That's pretty good service in my book.

The 700RB is ailing, so now I can take it in and get it fixed. I'm pretty stoked right now, I just need a bass...

It actually gets pretty loud for being a small 2 lb. class D amp.
I always take it as my backup now. It's just enough power to make it through a big gig running a 4 ohm load, and perfect for rehearsals and jam sessions.

2nd MB800 gig. Again no hiss with the gain way down, we had to start quiet at a small club. Then we could turn it up but for the MB800 that was still BARELY on. Loved the amps tone all night, didnt touch my settings much from last gig. My only dislike for this amp besides hiss at louder volumes with the gain up... is the knobs. Pretty easy to hit them when you dont mean to & theres too much play. The difference between 9 oclock & 10 oclock on volume is big but you gotta move it to 11 to get it to fall back to 10. Not a big deal, just kinda hard to be that delicate when you're trying to move the things quick during a song. I much prefer that tight, click reinforcement with the 9.2 max when turning knobs

I think this amp has DEFINITELY moved itself to keeper status until a full 2 channel micro comes out

No doubt. It's definitely not a "premium" amp but that's a heck of a lot better than falsifying watts. Good stuff at good prices

Just got an MB800 as well. Very nice, like the big bottom end....I agree with Tunaman about the knobs and fan is a bit loud when it comes on, but love the sound and feel from the amp. I also have a Shuttlemax 9.2.

I recently picked up an '89 400RB and like it more than my 700RB. I don't remember if I posted pics of the 700RB, so here are both. I may find the GK footswitch to use with the 400RB, but cannot imagine the tones of this head without boost.

What do you like about the 400 vs the 700? I've got a 400RB-IV, and can't really hear a difference. My ears aren't the most refined, admittedly.

Had one for a bit. Very underrated! No complaints, just traded up to get a 400RB-IV to keep my RB tone intact.

I like that I can get some great growl and good harmonics from the 400RB and can play at not too loud practice levels to 'hit the rails' as GK users say without the extra volume of the 700RB. I can also say that I never get tired of plying through the 400RB with the mids switch in through my Spector Rebop.

Hey guys, looking to downsize my rig next year. I'm tired of lugging around my ampeg gear every weekend.

I'm looking at getting GK MB500 paired with Neo 212ii (+ another 212 later down the road if needed).

Question is mb500 + 212 loud enough for a 5 piece rock band?
