Looking for reviews and opinions on this combo. Do you like it? What settings do you find are the best (obviously this is personal preference)? I’ve found a used one for $400 and most reviews I’ve found people seem to like them but looking for other opinions as well.
Very LOUD combo! Can handle moderately loud bar bands, but only as a monitor. I don't recommend using it to fill a room. If it's an acoustic act with no drums, I think it would do well by itself in a bar setting. I would not get hung up on what settings to use. The manual should describe what each control does and you can experiment from. The Gallien Krueger club can shed more light on how the controls fully work.
Thanks for your input. I play mostly in churches. Anything larger I get DI’d into a PA system. How do I find the GK club?
Not trying to be a wise-guy but the search function is pretty good, give it a shot. There are several threads on this combo.
I suggest not using the Search Function on this site and instead use Google. You can type anything you want and add "talkbass" to it. Like I did here: gallien krueger club talkbass - بحث Google
I had the MB210-II. It was a great sounding amp. The boost feature is a great feature of it. You can have either a pretty fat sound without it, or crank it up and get a nice grind. I also had the MBE extension cab to go with it. The pair made a great rig with plenty of volume. Room with a couple hundred people was no problem for the pair.
I have the 1st generation of this and it’s fine to play with a band and will be just fine for playing in church. If you want to hear how it sounds in a band situation, watch any of the videos here:The Fragile Elite
I know you are asking about the 210 but I run a mb115 combo with a mbp 212 chained and it’s almost too much I run everything (Dials) at noon and my vol maybe at #3 And that’s loud, the gain and boost both being at noon is a lot, when I want it to be in your face grain I put gain at 2 to 3 o’clock and that’s very loud, no matter where you are at on stage. Hope this helps a little.
