What's wrong with the original Fender P-Bass that you have to get an off brand?

Well, overpriced and questionable QC for a start... at least if you buy new.

"Off brands" are often much better value if you don't need the Fender logo. I still understand why people would want a genuine Fender thought. After all, it's not REALLY a P-bass if it's not a Fender.

The Gamma basses surpass most Genders in any price range for a fraction of the price. I love all of mine

The Gamma website doesn’t really describe where the parts come from or anything. Most builders will say that their tuners or bridges come from Hipshot, pickups by whomever, etc. But at $1500 isn’t that something you would want to know? A few hundred more gets something of known origin.

They have a Bacchus vibe to them. Agree with CyberSnyder, would like more specifics with parts and styles used. Obviously Fender styled, but drop us an e-mail, seems a tad casual.

I will get scolded by the moderators if I overly comment, promote or endorse my products outside the bazaar. Which I respect.... But fair to say that I (GAMMA) don't use any third party parts. All my (our) own gear. Pups and all. Can't post anymore...

Right, you source the parts that are given a sku to make three unique. Country of origin?

Don’t use any third party parts means the company makes EVERYTHING from scratch in house, which I’m not saying is impossible.....but it’s impossible.

The closest I could find is on the Facebook page Gamma was selling extra necks that were ordered. Nothing wrong with that, but the parts aren’t made in house. So, the source is indicative of the quality of the instrument. If they’re high quality parts, builders will advertise the source. Nobody will hide that they’re using Nordstrand pickups, for example.

In my Chowny group we have Stephen Chown comment on questions all the time. If you are worried you should ask a moderator but I don't think answering the questions is the same as shameless self-promotion.

"Original" Fender has not existed since 1965. Current FMIC is as much an imitation as Gamma, Lakland, Lull, etc.

You could say that for just about any business that has been around for more than ~10 years, including Lakland which has been sold. The lineage of today's Fender instruments definitely traces back to Leo Fender. There are some killer vintage Fenders out there, but I find today's US Fenders to be better than most of the old instruments. And if you go Custom Shop to get into the same price range as the vintage instruments, there is little comparison.

What I mean is made by Fender corp.Period.
    Current or past.

    Not Sandberg.
    Or Glarry.
    Or Venture.

I see plenty of satisfied customers on Facebook and people here speak highly of them.

I just wish they'd start making them like this, again.
As for P basses from companies other than Fender, there are plenty of people here who would rather own a G&L LB-100 than a Fender Precision. ..same goes for Lakland, Sire and a few other companies.
I missed buying this Gamma nearly two years ago and still regret it.
