    Howdy all,

A little bit of Gamut news:

1- Starting August 5th they will be offering 25% off bass strings! Time to stock up if you didn't take advantage of the last sale!

2- They will be offering a limited run of FLAT WOUND bass strings starting in October 2013!!! To date, Gamut only offers round wound E and A strings in silver and copper. I'm not sure of which strings they will offer, or what the winding material will be, but this is an exciting development to be sure! :)

Here is a link to the bass string selection from their catalog: http://www.gamutstrings.com/catalog.html?Vl=4&Tp=2

I'll post more info as it becomes available!

Very interesting. I wonder how the flat wounds will sound compared to the roundwounds.

IDK but I will definitely be getting an E string and I'll post my thoughts.

Were I to guess, I'd wager they will be a little more mellow in tone and prolly offer a little less sustain compared to the copper or silver round wound strings.

I'd give my eye teeth for a Pistoy E though!!! :hyper:

Got an email out to Dan. He's going to let me know when he has a set ready to try out! I asked him about tension, diameter, materials. Any other questions I haven't thought about? I will post a report as soon as I know more. I'm hoping we can get a US made version of Eudoxa or Oliv's out in the market!
