Ok... I've been very happy with my bass rig(s). All Gallien Krueger. The list is as follows. MB-500 MB-800 Fusion Legacy 800 With the following cabs. SBX 410 8 ohm GLX 410 8 ohm CX 410 4 ohm The SBX and the GLX have both be refitted with GK 10" 200 watt 32 ohm Paragon drivers. So both cabs sound fantastic either on their own or together. I have the CX 410 4 ohm so I can get 100% of my power into a single cab when using a full 810 stack is over kill. But this has left me with an odd number of cabs. Three 410s. Here's where the gas got bad. Last night I ordered my second CX 410 4 ohm cab. Effectively giving me an 810 2 ohm stack. The legacy 800 is the only amp I have that does 2 ohm so it will get the duty when that stack it called for. Either stack will probably sound close to each other. But this isn't about that. It's about GAS. Now I'm thinking 2 more 8 ohm cabs so as to be able to run 16 10s at 2 ohms. I think I need counseling.
Do you mean bad bad... or good bad? 'Cause you story is giving me perma-grin I had mad lust for GK heads for a long time and finally picked up a happy MB-500 perhaps in Feb. Haven't even gigged it yet, but there's probably more GK gear in my future, too.
